Avengers: Endgame Review 2019

Avengers: Endgame Review 2019

Ever since the release of Avengers: Endgame is nearing, everyone is thinking on how will it end, especially after Thanos snapping half the universe into dust in the previous Avengers: Infinity War. Since then countless theories have been surfacing on what will happen in Endgame, Doctor Strange’s understanding on all the possible results, Thanos being defeated by Ant-Man and Nick Fury knowing what’s to happen in the future.

OK, so we have a lot of ideas on the story of Avengers: Endgame, still I’m going to let you in on my theory, which I think is quite obvious. It might be a hunch, but after going through all the facts, I think I know how Marvel Studios plans to Endgame on the most anticipated movie ever. So here it is: They will not go back and challenge Thanos, instead they will travel back in time to actually stop themselves.

Now, before you say why would they do that, well here are some facts to look upon. Now, as the title suggests, Endgame shall mark the end of phase 3 and the narrative that began back in 2008 with the first Iron Man movie. On top of that, the contracts of some major Marvel actors like Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr are supposed to end with Avengers 4, but that’s not the end for Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has announced Captain Marvel shall take the helm in the upcoming MCU movies- which is a great news, and of course, we have Spider-Man: Far From Home, Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther making their way to the big screen soon, so (if not all) some of the characters are definitely coming back soon.

Time Travel Element

Now, as I just said, the Avengers will stop themselves points to the fact, this time the time travel element is going to play a major role in the movie. How do I know, well, some behind-the-scenes images show Captain America wearing costumes he wore in Phase 1 Captain America: The First Avenger (2009) and Phase 2 Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). Carol Danvers looking like she’s never aged pointing out her ability to travel through time as easily as she travels outer space. Most of the speculations that are available point towards either the Avengers finding a way to travel back in time and acquire the Marvel Infinity Stones and stop Thanos from getting them and destroy him or alter their existence altogether.

This is just my assumption: it’s almost clear Marvel plans on hitting the reset button in Phase 4, new characters and a new story. Now, what if they plan to ‘reset’ the Avengers assembling to the scratch- Avengers never existed.

Avengers: Endgame is ready for release on April 26, 2019. The Avengers: Endgame is the most anticipated movies of 2019, topping both Captain Marvel and Star Wars: Episode IX. To label April as the month of Avengers: Endgame is no cliche.

After all, Avengers: Endgame is going to be the end of the Avengers era. It all began ten years back with Iron Man kicking off the first Marvel Cinematic Universe, making the path for the Avenger series to walk on to reach the Endgame. It also wrote down the storyline of Thanos showcasing as the Mad Titan who wants to collect all the Infinity Stones. Finally, in Avengers: Endgame, the Avengers will assemble for their last fight against Thanos.

Matter of fact, in one clip, you can see Captain America giving a speech on the mission to defeat Thanos. As always, it’s an inspirational speech and the Captain also says “Look out for each other”. He also says “This is the fight of our lives,” then the Avengers put their hands together to show their solidarity towards the mission.

The clip doesn’t tell us much, nevertheless, you do see Rocket and Ant-Man interact with each other and Captain America looking uncomfortable in outer space.

Most have been wondering why is Captain Marvel not protecting the earth, especially when Thanos began with his invasion, and here is the answer. A frustrated Rhodes asks Captain Marvel where she’s been, to which she says “There are a lot of other planets in the universe, and unfortunately, they didn’t have you guys,”. Plus Captain Marvel will be interacting with the Avengers. Being the one who never backs down or minces her words, she doesn’t take time to get on her moves to take Thanos down.

You get to know this when the Avengers will see an energy signature indicating the Infinity Stones are being used again. Hence, the team debates on what to do. James Rhodes and Bruce Banner remain apprehensive while Captain Marvel and Black Widow want to hear up for a fight.

Endgame is expected to gross between $200 million to $250 million, making it the massive biggest top-five all-time opening. If it manages to reach the high mark, this is going to be the second movie to gross $250 million during the domestic opening weekend.

Back to the movie, well, the official trailer does not reveal much, which is good. The fun would have gone if they had shown how they undo damages caused by Thanos. Now, we get to see how they find the way to defeat rather than be defeated by Thanos, on the big screen.

Yes, you see possibilities of the Avengers fearing defeat, a totally new concept, considering they have been undefeated till Thanos made his entry. But, they are the Avengers, hence, will not give in so easily, after all, they owe it to the lost lives.

Now, if you are thinking what does ‘Endgame’ refer to, well if you remember in Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange says just before returning the Time Stone to Thanos, he says “We’re in the endgame now” to Tony Stark.

Endgame is a definition used in games like bridge and chess when only a few cards or pieces are left. Now, half of the universe is gone, only a few Avengers are left, means, the stakes are at their highest level.

The movie begins adrift in space where there’s no water or food. Tony Stark sends a message to inform about his oxygen supply about to finish to Pepper Potts. On the other hand, our remaining Avengers- Captain America, Thor, Bruce Banner, and Black Widow try figuring out how to bring back their vanquished allies for the biggest ever showdown to bring down Thanos.
