Marvel superheroes have mostly been males. It is the first time that the directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden came with the idea of a woman superhero in Captain Marvel. It is the story of the Marvel character named Carol Danvers. The lead role of Carol is played by Brie Larson. The movie stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, and others. The performance of Brie Larson is simply awesome. She shows various feelings in a perfect manner while playing the role of Carol Danvers.
The Plot of the Movie
The story goes back in the year 1995 when Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel. During this time, the earth is divided between 2 alien worlds. The other name of Carol Danvers is also Vers in the movie. She is the Starforcemember and gets nightmares of an older woman quite often. Vers learns to control the abilities from Yon-Rogg. She is then captured by Talos who is Skrull commander.
Vers then develops a relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D agent Nick Fury. The movie shows the chemistry between Carol and Nick. In the middle of the movie, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner and James Rhodes appear monitoring the pager.
Good direction by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck
None of the scenes in the movie are extended more which interests the audience. There are some confusing parts in the middle of the movie but then it goes in a good way. Some of the scenes are similar to other Marvel movies. Captain Marvel shows the latest technology to grab the attention of the viewers.
The movie has beautiful music and visual effects. It shows pager, slow-loading CD-Roms and dial-up internet. It mainly has the music of the 90s in the background. The cool cat adds more beauty to the movie. It does not have a complex storyline or confusing scenes.
A different plot from other Marvel films
We must have seen other Marvel movies such as Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. Most of these superheroes fail to do everything without their powers. On the other hand, Captain Marvel cannot do anything when she gains all the powers. She faces many struggles and problems in the battle but she overcomes very problem and finally fights.
Carol then meets Reggie the cat which is her real power. She does not need weapons or armors anymore. She now engages in a fistfight. The songs of the movie match perfectly to the backdrop. All of the songs of Captain Marvel are beautiful and you will never stop to hear them.
Conclusion
Captain Marvel has a woman superhero which is a different idea from other Marvel movies. The character of Carol Danvers is amazingly shown with the dashing entry. Her acting, dialogues, and costumes hold the attention of the audience.
The movie made a huge business in South Korea, China, and Australia. The critics define it as both humor and action movie with the latest superhero. The movie got 3.5 ratings and it is a must watch a movie.
